“CONSTRUCTION WORKER FALLS TO HIS DEATH AT VALERO WEST PLANT”

Fourstar Health and Safety
Marc Ibanez, MD.

The Nueces County Medical Examiner has confirmed a worker has died at Valero’s West Plant. Ezequiel Guzman, 52, of San Antonio died as a result of a fall at the Valero West Plant located at 5998 Up River Road.

This is a very important message to the many construction companies that hire employees to work in hazardous or dangerous work environments. It’s critical that each employee by physically qualified to work in these environments. Often times employers cut corners and hire employees without a physical examination, only to learn after an incident, injury or death, the employee’s physical health was questionable.

With type II adult-onset diabetes and other conditions as high as 20% of the general population, you put not only the worker in jeopardy of injury or death but also the employer may assume the liability should an incident occur.  Fourstar Health and Safety is here as a stop-gap measure to ensure that each and every employee meets the physical demand level required by the employer.  If your employees need a new hire or annual physical we offer an offerable option for all construction/industrial contractors in the Corpus Christi area. Call us NOW to avoid another tragic injury or death.
